Day 2: Transfer to Samburu National Park
After breakfast, your Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Holiday will begin in the early hours of the morning. Your private guide will take you north, past the equator, to the frontier district, from where you will travel to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve and check into your campsite. After a sumptuous African safari lunch, you’ll be taken on your first afternoon savanna wildlife game drive in the reserve before sunset.
Alternatively, stay in the Lodge and enjoy the evening sunset while sipping African drinks, dancing to African music, or meditating on your next days in Africa.
Day 2: Samburu Savanna Game Drives
After breakfast, you can depart on the second day of your Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Vacation for a full day of African savanna game drives in the reserve. The morning is the most common time for savanna game viewing because the temperatures are mild, creating a pleasant environment for both you and the wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards roaming the vast grasslands in search of their first day’s meal. The natural spectacle that unfolds here is always breathtaking!
Return to your campsite for dinner and a night’s rest. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as drinking water in the car
Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, before transferring to your next Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Holiday destination, you’ll go on an early morning safari game drive to see what you missed in Samburu the day before and to replenish your photographic bank.
After that, you’ll head south to the equator, with a stopover along the way. Locals will conduct a water demonstration to certify the equator’s location. From here, you’ll take a picture stop at Thomson Falls before heading down into the Great Rift Valley.
As you climb the valley’s eastern wall, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of lush coffee and tea plantations. You’ll stay the night in Lake Nakuru National Park.
Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
After an early breakfast, your next stop on your Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Holiday will be Masai Mara National Reserve via Narok town.
The Masai tribe, proud young warrior-nomads with plaited hair, red cloaks, and axes, live in the Mara and will pique your interest. You’ll check into your safari camp, take a refreshing shower, and then head out for an evening African savanna game drive in Masai Mara’s savanna plains after lunch.
Day 5: Masai Mara and Hot Air Balloon Safari
Today is your chance to go on a hot air balloon ride. You’ll fly in early in the morning when the winds are at their calmest and spend the whole day on a game drive in the reserve.
If you want to see Big Cats, the Masai Mara National Reserve is a great place to go. The Mara has been dubbed the “Kingdom of Lions,” and these ferocious hunters rule these grasslands. Cheetahs, hyenas, and smaller predators such as jackals are also common in the Mara. You’ll have a great chance of spotting them if you go on scheduled savanna safari game drives through the Mara plains.
Day 6: Lake Naivasha exploration
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on your sixth day of the Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Holiday to Lake Naivasha, stopping for lunch at the Mt Longonot transit hotel. After you’ve filled your stomachs, you’ll go on to Lake Naivasha (the only freshwater lake in Great Rift Valley). The Lake Naivasha Chambai Hotel will host your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Crescent Island boat safari
After an early breakfast, you can take a boat trip to Crescent Island, which is situated in the Great Rift Valley along Lake Naivasha. Crescent Island Sanctuary is one of Kenya’s most beautiful parks. The sanctuary’s beaches are teeming with bird life, including swarms of pelicans, cormorants, and fish-eagles with eerie calls.
Day 8: Move to Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, drive across the Kenya-Tanzania border into the Amboseli savanna plains in southern Kenya. You will arrive in Amboseli National Park in the late evening and enjoy an evening game drive safari en route to your safari camp.
Day 9: Amboseli National Park
Spend the ninth day of your Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Vacation in the savanna plains of Amboseli. The Amboseli National Park is located in southern Kenya.
It’s popular for its huge elephant herds and views of Tanzania’s massive Mount Kilimanjaro. Observation Hill provides views of the summit as well as the park’s plains and swamps. Giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hundreds of bird species are among the diverse wildlife.
The vast Lake Amboseli dominates the western part, which is dry outside of the rainy season. As the clouds clear in the early evening, you will be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped dome.
Day 10: Move to Tsavo West
Conduct an early morning game drive, then return to your camp for breakfast before heading to Tsavo West Game Reserve for a late lunch. After visiting the rhino sanctuary in the afternoon, you can return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Mombasa
After an early breakfast, drive to Diani Beach in Mombasa as one of the highlights of your Best of Kenya Safari and Beach Holiday. After the long game drives earlier in your journey, you’ll have plenty of time to unwind.
Diani Beach, Mombasa, Day 12-14
Spend the remainder of your Kenya Safari & Mombasa Beach Holiday walking the white sand beaches of Mombasa, surrounded by the stunning Indian Ocean, soft white sands, lush greenery, and the striking shade of emerald, blue that emerges from its clear warm waters. Diani is Kenya’s most tranquil escape.
It is the ideal place to unwind during the final days of this African safari.
